Collaboration is the NEW competition.
Collaboration Myth Debunked
Let’s shatter the myth that competition compels us as individuals to work harder and win this shiny prize at the end of the road. We see this every day from securing your job in the workplace to publishing content as a social media influencer. Our various industries have trained our minds to believe that outshining one another is a form of survival of the fittest.
Clearly, the idea of competition is unhealthy and many people are taking steps towards creating a safe space for collaboration. On Sunday, June 3rd, The Beauty Co-Lab set the standard and hosted their first-ever collaborative pop-up shop at The Refinery in Austin, TX, and their goal was to
“Join forces for the greater good of the local beauty industry.”
The Beauty Co-Lab
I happened to stumble across this event on Eventbrite and instantly something clicked. No matter what day the event fell on, I knew I had to be in attendance. Finding things to do in the city are extremely hard, so seeing an event like this was a sign that it was meant to be.
The variety of vendors present was overwhelming in the best way. In attendance were
- 827 Ray’s Kitchen and Cellar
- Absorb Skincare
- Lip Service
- Peppermint Pedi Parlor
- and many more
I felt such a strong presence of collaboration and I got the opportunity to connect with so many amazing brands. The creative space was extremely inviting from the moment I walked in the door and did I mention that everything was FREE.
Yes, it was free 99.
To top it off, The Beauty Co-Lab will be hosting this event once a month so make sure to mark your calendar![Tweet “If you were at #TheBeautyCoLab, retweet with a ❤ emoji! “]
